# PokéWallet MCP server card prices in your AI assistant

Source: https://pokewallet.io/developers/mcp

Connect Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and other MCP clients to PokéWallet. Your assistant searches cards and reads TCGPlayer and CardMarket prices for Pokémon, One Piece and ten more card games, with your own API key.

Server URL

`https://mcp.pokewallet.io/mcp`

- Streamable HTTP
- Authorization: Bearer pk_…
- 10 read-only tools

## How it works

1. Your client **Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code…** Holds your key in its own config.
2. mcp.pokewallet.io **Keeps nothing** Forwards your key, stores and logs nothing.
3. api.pokewallet.io **Your plan, your quota** Each tool call uses one request.

## Connect your client

Pick your client and paste the configuration. The key goes in the `Authorization` header; keep it in an environment variable where the client supports it.

*Claude Code (bash)*

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http pokewallet https://mcp.pokewallet.io/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $POKEWALLET_API_KEY"
```

*Cursor (json)*

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "pokewallet": {
      "url": "https://mcp.pokewallet.io/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:POKEWALLET_API_KEY}" }
    }
  }
}
```

*VS Code (json)*

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "pokewallet": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.pokewallet.io/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:pokewallet-key}" }
    }
  },
  "inputs": [
    { "type": "promptString", "id": "pokewallet-key", "description": "PokeWallet API key", "password": true }
  ]
}
```

*Gemini CLI (json)*

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "pokewallet": {
      "httpUrl": "https://mcp.pokewallet.io/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer $POKEWALLET_API_KEY" }
    }
  }
}
```

*Claude Desktop (json)*

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "pokewallet": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://mcp.pokewallet.io/mcp", "--header", "Authorization:${AUTH_HEADER}"],
      "env": { "AUTH_HEADER": "Bearer pk_live_xxx" }
    }
  }
}
```

*Other clients*

```
URL     https://mcp.pokewallet.io/mcp   (Streamable HTTP)
Header  Authorization: Bearer <your key>
```

Claude CodeTerminal. Add --scope user to have the server in every project; /mcp inside Claude Code shows whether it is connected.Cursor~/.cursor/mcp.json, or .cursor/mcp.json in a project.VS Code.vscode/mcp.json in a project, or MCP: Open User Configuration. VS Code asks for the key on first start and stores it securely.Gemini CLI~/.gemini/settings.json, or .gemini/settings.json in a project.Claude Desktopclaude_desktop_config.json (Settings → Developer → Edit Config), through mcp-remote. Replace pk_live_xxx with your key, keep the file private and restart the app.Other clientsWindsurf, Cline, Zed or your own code with an MCP SDK: give the client the URL and the header. A client that only runs local servers can use the mcp-remote setup.

The custom connectors of the claude.ai and ChatGPT web apps can’t send an API key header yet (they support OAuth or no authentication), so they can’t connect to this server for now.

## Your key stays yours

- **Nothing stored.** The server is stateless: your key travels in the request header to the PokéWallet API and is never saved or logged.
- **Read-only.** No tool changes your account, your keys or your plan. It only reads cards, sets and prices.
- **Open source.** The code is on [GitHub](https://github.com/pokewallet-lab/pokewallet-sdk), and you can run it on your own machine.

```
gh repo clone pokewallet-lab/pokewallet-sdk && cd pokewallet-sdk
(cd packages/ts && npm install && npm run build)
cd packages/mcp && npm install && npx wrangler dev
```

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the PokéWallet MCP server?

A hosted server for the Model Context Protocol that lets AI assistants such as Claude Code and Cursor search trading cards and read their prices through the PokéWallet API, using your own key.

### Does it cost anything extra?

No. It uses your PokéWallet plan: each tool call is one request of your quota. A free key covers search, cards and sets.

### Which clients can connect?

Any client that speaks Streamable HTTP and can send a header: Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and your own code. Claude Desktop connects through mcp-remote.

### Can I use it in claude.ai or ChatGPT?

Not yet. Their web connectors support OAuth or no authentication, and this server needs your API key in a header.

### Is my API key safe?

The server forwards your key to the PokéWallet API on each request and keeps nothing: no storage, no logs. If a key leaks, revoke it in the dashboard and create a new one.

## Building an app instead?

The TypeScript and Python SDKs give your code the same data, with typed results and errors.
